This photo was taken in the summer of 2006 of Aidan Coopman (age 4)
climbing in the Upper Yosemite Falls area for the finale of a trip I have
dubbed our “treasure box journey”.
After completing three 14,000 ft. ascents in Colorado, Aidan found
magical rings, which needed to be traded for a key to a treasure box. This
led us to Yosemite, where a troll left the locked box outside our tent while
we were sleeping one night and prompted our immediate early-morning
departure to the top of Half Dome to find the key. Waiting at the very end
of the tip of the “diving board” (a narrow 10-foot rock protrusion at the top of
Half Dome) was the much sought-after key. Aidan fearlessly crawled onto
the ledge with a 3000-foot drop below to retrieve it.
Running excitedly for 10 miles downhill to the campsite, I struggled to
keep up with his feverish pace. At last, we made it to camp where Aidan
opened the box filled with the kind of booty that would make any 4-year-
old go wild.

Up Coming Events for 2007

Our biggest Event is camping/backpacking trip all summer in
Alaska. We will start in Anchorage, feed some grizzly bears, ice
climb Juno ice fields, and climb to gold mines. Look at the photo
to the right of the mine in Kennecott. Miners make me lose my
attitude.
In April or October, Aidan will attemp to
climb Snake Dyke which is a route on
Half Dome. Dean Potter are you out
there? We need you to lead and be
able to haul our butts up!!!
We will be making another climbing film "Omish climbing from 14k Feet" which should be funny.
Might bring a toilet to the top of Long's Peak on a busy day and watch people's expressions.
WE WILL BE DOING THE WHITE RIM TRAIL IN MOAB, I WILL RIDE MY BIKE WHILE THE KIDS
RIDE ATVS. THIS IS 100 MILES!!!!!!

The annual ride your bike to Long's Peak and climb it (total of 9000k elevation and around 100
miles)

Stay Tune for Leif's Animal Page, we have some incredible animal
pictures like the picture of the black morph of a red fox!!!!! We have
had mountain lions scream at us, bears licking peanut butter from our
toes ....
